I was riveted on the last few pages of Stacy Schiff’s best-selling Cleopatra: A Life, just as Egyptians began filling streets of Cairo and Alexandria to call for the ouster of their modern-day “pharaoh” President Hosni Mubarak. Current events made me even more rapt.
